QA

I don’t know what type of AC unit I need. Will you help me decide the placement and model of my new system?

When you ask to receive a quote, we will send out our highly experienced design engineers to assess the space you require temperature control. They will measure the area of the room/s, as well as locate any windows that will project sunlight into the room. Sunlight has a big effect on the placement of the unit, as you will want to place it out of the sun so it doesn’t force the machine to work harder than it has to and therefore consume more power. In terms of the model, the size of the room determines this as well are your personal preference on appearance and aesthetic.

QA

Can I switch my Mitsubishi air conditioner off at the power point or at the fuse box?

It is completely acceptable to turn the power off, especially if you are going away for a long period of time. When you turn the power on again, we would recommend to wait a few hours to make sure your system doesn’t suffer any damages as it turns back on.

QA

My air conditioner is over 10 years old. Is it worth getting it fixed?

In the past, our staff have found that if the air conditioner hasn’t been well maintained at this age, it is most likely cheaper to replace the unit. We will gladly give you advice on costs for both alternatives regardless.

QA

What is the general cost to install a split system air conditioner?

On average, a unit for a bedroom would cost roughly $1,700. Larges spaces such as a living room costs approximately $3,000. Running costs vary depending on what you require, however Mitsubishi Electric systems have proved to be extremely efficient and therefore inexpensive to run.

QA

How often should I get my air conditioner serviced?

The specialists at DJK Air Conditioning recommend you have your system serviced once a year. Our team of mechanics will check to make sure everything is still running well, fix any issues you may have, and clean the air conditioner with Mizu Foam to leave it healthy and good as new. By regularly having your AC services, it will extend the lifespan of your system to 15+ years.

What does it mean when you say Mitsubishi Electric air conditioners are inverter systems?

An inverter air conditioner is the latest innovation in technology, where the inverter is used to control the speed of the compressor motor so it continuously regulated the temperature. This means that it consumes much less power and is around 30-50% cheaper to run. Inverter air conditioners are also much faster to achieve your desired temperature, reduce the start-up time by 30%. Furthermore, the systems are quiet and produce even temperature levels, rather than non-inverter systems where temperature tends to fluctuate. All Mitsubishi Electric models use inverter technology.
